Your travel guide to Kho Phi Phi: Best Beaches and Activities
Koh Phi Phi is one of Thailand's most famous island destinations, known for its breathtaking beaches, crystal-clear waters, and dramatic limestone cliffs. Unlike the more peaceful Koh Yao Yai, Koh Phi Phi has a lively atmosphere with a mix of adventure, relaxation, and vibrant nightlife. If you’re looking for stunning nature combined with a bit of excitement, Koh Phi Phi is a must-visit.
The island is divided into two distinct areas: the bustling Tonsai Bay, where you can find lively bars and parties, and the more tranquil Loh Dalum Bay, ideal for those seeking relaxation.
we’ll share our favorite activities, beaches, and practical tips on how to get around the island. If you’re planning your trip, this guide will help you make the most of your time in this paradise.

Maya Bay
One of the most famous spots in Thailand, Maya Bay is world-renowned thanks to the movie "The Beach." The breathtaking bay is surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and features a pristine beach with soft white sand. Though it can get crowded, the sheer beauty of this place makes it worth a visit.
Location: On the western side of Koh Phi Phi Leh
How to Get There: You can only access Maya Bay by boat, which you can arrange from Phi Phi Don. The price of a private long-tail boat ranges from 2,500 to 4,000 THB (75 to 120 USD). There are no public buses on the island, so your options are either long-tail boats or organized tours, which are not that cheap 1,500 to 2,500 THB (approximately 45 to 75 USD), but wth a lot of people and limited time on the bay.
Long Beach
Long Beach is one of the best places to relax and enjoy the crystal-clear waters of Koh Phi Phi. It’s less crowded compared to Maya Bay, making it perfect for a more peaceful day of sunbathing and swimming. The coral reefs just offshore also make it an excellent spot for snorkeling.
Location: Southern tip of Phi Phi Don
How to Get There: Accessible by a 20-minute walk from the main pier at Tonsai Bay, or you can hire a long-tail boat for around 100-200 THB (3 to 6 USD). There are no public buses, so walking or boats are your best options.

Monkey Beach
If you’re an animal lover, Monkey Beach is a fun stop to see wild monkeys up close. Be cautious, as they can get quite bold when food is around! The beach itself is beautiful, with clear water perfect for a quick swim.
Location: North of Tonsai Bay, Phi Phi Don
How to Get There: You can reach Monkey Beach by kayak from Tonsai Bay or by hiring a long-tail boat for about 200-300 THB (6 to 9 USD). A kayak rental costs around 100 to 200 THB (3 to 6 USD) per hour. As for us, we did a stop there when we went to Maya Bay, it was part our our journey.
