What to do

1. Railay Beach

Railay Beach is one of Krabi's most stunning and serene locations, surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and only accessible by boat. We stayed in a hotel directly on the beach, making it easy to soak in both sunrise and sunset — a must-do if you're looking for a peaceful, scenic experience. Railay Beach is ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing, but it's also great for those looking to try rock climbing or kayaking.

2. Phra Nang Beach

Just a short walk from Railay, Phra Nang Beach is known for its crystal-clear waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The beach is home to the Phra Nang Cave, a famous spot for local legends and traditions. The combination of turquoise water, soft sand, and intriguing rock formations makes this one of Krabi’s most photographed locations. Be sure to arrive early to avoid crowds and have the beach nearly to yourself.

3. Ao Nang Beach

For a more vibrant beach scene, Ao Nang Beach offers the perfect balance of relaxation and entertainment. Here, you'll find everything from beachfront restaurants to shops and water sports rentals. Ao Nang is also the main hub for arranging boat trips to nearby islands and beaches. The bustling atmosphere and beautiful views of the Andaman Sea make it a popular spot for both daytime activities and nighttime dining.

4. Tonsai Beach

Tonsai Beach, located between Ao Nang and Railay, is the go-to destination for rock climbers and budget travelers. It has a laid-back vibe with a backdrop of impressive limestone cliffs. While less crowded than Railay, Tonsai is perfect for those looking for adventure, as it offers climbing routes for all levels. The beach is a bit more secluded, adding to its appeal for travelers seeking tranquility.

5. Krabi Town and Night Market

Krabi Town offers a more local experience compared to the beach resorts, with vibrant markets, authentic Thai culture, and friendly locals. We explored Krabi Town's Night Market, which was a highlight, full of delicious street food, handmade crafts, and souvenirs. If you're a foodie, you’ll love sampling traditional Thai dishes here. Spend time wandering the streets and enjoying the atmosphere, as Krabi Town offers a slower pace than the coastal areas.

6. Tiger Cave Temple

A trip to Krabi isn’t complete without visiting the Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), one of the region’s most iconic landmarks. The climb to the top is challenging, with over 1,200 steps, but the panoramic views are worth every step. From the summit, you can see the entire region, including Krabi’s lush jungle and limestone cliffs. The temple itself is also fascinating, with caves and shrines to explore at the base.

7. Emerald Pool & Hot Springs

If you're looking for a day trip from the beaches, visiting the Emerald Pool and Hot Springs is a great option. Located in a forest reserve, the Emerald Pool is a natural freshwater pool with stunning green waters, perfect for swimming. Nearby, the Krabi Hot Springs offer a relaxing experience as you soak in naturally heated mineral-rich water. These spots are perfect for unwinding after days of beach activities.
