We had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the country's rich history, marvel at ancient wonders, and unwind along the beautiful coastal shores. From cruising along the majestic Nile River to exploring the bustling capital of Cairo and relaxing in the resort town of Sharm El Sheikh, this trip offered us a perfect blend of cultural exploration and leisurely indulgence.

Day 1-3: Cruising the Nile, Aswan to Luxor
Our adventure began with a captivating three-day Nile cruise, commencing in Aswan and concluding in Luxor. As we sailed along the iconic river, we encountered a series of breathtaking temples and historical sites. Highlights of this leg included visits to the awe-inspiring :

Day 4-6: Exploring Cairo's Historic Treasures
Next, we boarded a comfortable night train from Luxor to Cairo, ready to immerse ourselves in the vibrant capital city. Cairo, a bustling metropolis, offered a wealth of historical and cultural sites. Our itinerary included a visit to the iconic Pyramids of Giza, where we marveled at the sheer grandeur and mystery of these ancient structures. The Egyptian Museum provided a glimpse into the country's rich heritage, housing an extensive collection of artifacts and treasures. We also enjoyed strolling through the vibrant markets of Khan El Khalili and exploring the historic Manial Palace and Gardens. Tahrir Square and the Al Azhar Mosque provided insights into modern-day Egypt and its Islamic heritage.

Day 7-13: Coastal Bliss in Sharm El Sheikh
After the hustle and bustle of Cairo, we headed to the coastal paradise of Sharm El Sheikh, where seven days of relaxation and rejuvenation awaited us. Our time in Sharm El Sheikh was filled with memorable experiences, including a visit to Ras Mohammed National Park, where we explored the vibrant underwater world through snorkeling. The pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters beckoned us to unwind and soak up the sun. We embarked on a thrilling desert safari in the Sinai Desert, witnessing stunning landscapes and immersing ourselves in the Bedouin culture. Additionally, we couldn't resist the temptation to embark on a scuba diving adventure in the Red Sea, renowned as one of the best diving destinations in the world, the Red Sea boasts vibrant coral reefs, a stunning variety of marine life, and excellent visibility. As we descended into the depths, we were greeted by a mesmerizing underwater world teeming with colorful coral formations, graceful sea turtles, and a kaleidoscope of exotic fish species. It was a true feast for the senses and a sight that will forever be etched in our memories.

During our Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor, we stayed on a luxurious cruise ship that offered comfortable cabins, exquisite dining experiences, and top-notch amenities. The ship provided us with a peaceful retreat after each day's adventures, allowing us to relax and enjoy the stunning views of the Nile River. In Cairo, we opted to stay in front of the Pyramids of Giza, to have the ability to visit it very early in the morning before the crowds and touristic buses arrive, but also to witness the amazing sunrise from our balcony while having the traditional Egyptian breakfast.

Where to stay in Sharm el Sheikh
we stayed at an all-inclusive beachfront resort in Sharm El Sheikh. The resort's had direct access to Red Sea and powdery white sands. We enjoyed lazy days by the sea, soaking up the sun and gentle breeze. Snorkeling in vibrant coral reefs few meters from our stay made our stay even special. The spa facilities provided ultimate relaxation. Delicious seafood and Egyptian specialties satisfied our palates. This resort's serene ambiance allowed us to unwind and cherish our memorable coastal paradise stay.

The country's extensive rail network connects major tourist destinations, providing a comfortable and scenic journey. One of the highlights of our trip was taking a night train from Luxor to Cairo in the first-class cabin with two beds.
Our train journey was comfortable, The staff was courteous and accommodating, ensuring that our journey was smooth and enjoyable, and the dinner and breakfast were okay, we weren't expecting either something very special.
The quality of trains in Egypt varies depending on the class and route. The Egyptian National Railways (ENR) operates a range of trains, from basic to more modern and comfortable ones. First-class and air-conditioned trains generally provide a more pleasant travel experience, offering comfortable seating, cleaner cabins, and amenities like onboard dining services.
However, it's essential to note that some older or economy-class trains may not meet the same standards. These trains might have limited facilities and could be more crowded during peak travel times. While they might offer a more budget-friendly option, they might not provide the same level of comfort as the higher-class trains.
